Parris grew up actively involved in a variety of sports and developed a strong passion for fitness from a young age. By 17 years old, he had already begun group coaching as well as 1-on-1 personal training.
His passion led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, accompanied by a minor in Business Administration from the University of Guelph. Here, he developed a deep understanding of the human body. Additionally, he completed his Precision Nutrition certification to help connect this knowledge to becoming a better nutrition coach.
Throughout school, Parris began a personal training business, continued coaching in a group setting, and started Truth Body Systems. The combined experience and education inspired him to write the “Truth Handbook” to help readers gain an understanding of the key nutritional principles and the lifestyle aspects which play influence on one’s results.
Currently, he places emphasis on continuing his education, and constantly aiming to improve the coaching experience for the clients of Truth Body Systems.
Courtney was inspired to become a nutrition coach to combine her passion for fitness with her innate foodie mentality.
She started her fitness journey in university, where she found a release and sense of purpose in the gym. However, it quickly became clear to her that training was only half of the equation. Over the next few years, she continued to improve her nutritional knowledge through experimentation, experience, and education.
In 2019, while embarking on a photoshoot prep, Courtney realized how personally fulfilling it was to see her goals come to life. In that moment, she decided to more formally dedicate herself to nutrition by pursuing her coaching certification. Now, among her own goals, she is committed to helping others realize their potential for success.
Her underlying belief is that enjoying food and achieving fitness goals don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Her approach focuses on highlighting the “Five F’s” of food: function, fuel, fun, flavour, fitness.
